CEO statement

Our code of ethics serves as a guide for current and future employees of JOLT. It captures everything we are about and how each one of us should do business with our clients and partners.

JOLT was created to fill in the existing gaps that I saw along my career. Since I started doing so, I have been joined by people who think alike and contributed to game-change the media agency industry. It is never done, and it is never the role of one person only, but all employees bring their contributions to create a better industry. Our code of ethics guides each one of us every day to make it reality.

  1. Core Principles
  2. Fair Labour and Employment Practices
  3. Protection of Intellectual Assets
  4. Establishing and Maintaining Trust

This code sets forth the basic standards of ethical and responsible business conduct that must be followed by all staff (incl. directors, officers, and employees) of JOLT Digital Pte. Ltd and JOLT Global Ltd. in our daily work at JOLT.

These standards are based on JOLT’s ethical pillars that are critical to JOLT’s success.

1. Core Principles

Our reputation as game-changer agency is one of our most valuable assets and crucial to our continued success. JOLT’s policy is to comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the countries and regions in which we operate and to conduct our business activities in an honest, ethical, and responsible manner. It is the core responsibility of JOLT to the society to pursue its corporate value enhancement through innovation and sound business practices and contribute to developing a sustainable society. We will all give due consideration to the impact our business activities on the interests of our clients, including customers, employees, suppliers, business partners, local communities and other organisations.

1.3. Respect for Human Rights

JOLT believes that all human beings should be treated with dignity and respect. JOLT is committed to uphold internationally recognised human rights of all people. We will all use reasonable efforts to avoid causing or contributing to adverse human rights impacts that may arise from our operations, products, services and/ or business relationships and will act diligently to help remediate any impacts that may occur.

1.4. Appreciating Diversity

Diversity is in JOLT’s DNA and the diversity of our businesses serves as the foundation of our competitive advantage. As members of an agency that conducts business in several regions and countries, we recognise that conduct that is socially and professionally acceptable in one culture or region may be viewed differently in another. We will consider such differences when performing our duties.

2. Fair Labour and Employment Practices

2.1. Equal Employment Opportunity/ Non-Discrimination

JOLT strives to promote diversity. We seek to create a culture that allows all JOLTers to contribute their unique talents and skills to provide the best services to our clients. JOLT is committed to recruiting, hiring, training, promoting and otherwise treating applicants and employees without discrimination based on factors that are unrelated to JOLT’s legitimate business interests.

2.2. No Forced Labour/ Child Labour

JOLT will not use any form of forced or involuntary labour where people are forced to work against their will, including forced labour to work off a debt, prison labour or human trafficking.

In addition, JOLT will not use child labour. “Child” means a person younger than 18 years old. This does not apply to limited time working experiences.

2.3. Work Environment – Anti-Harassment/ Anti-Discrimination/ Health and Safety

JOLT is committed to maintaining a healthy, safe, and productive work environment that is free from discrimination or harassment, in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. JOLT complies with all applicable local laws that prohibit discrimination and harassment. JOLT will not tolerate any form of discrimination, or harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment, bullying or other behaviours that create a hostile work environment. We will also adhere to all applicable health and safety laws and regulations as well as internal rules and policies to help ensure workplace safety.

3. Protection of Intellectual Assets

3.1. Company Assets

Our assets take various forms, and they can be physical assets or less tangible assets. These include physical property, such as our facilities, equipment, cash, and other financial assets, along with office supplies, hardware, tools, and materials. Intangible property is our information technology, email, and voicemail. Personally Identifiable Information (PII) stands for personal information about our employees, contractors, clients and consumers and Intellectual Property (IP) like our names, logos, trademarks, patents, moonshots, and copyrights. It also includes anything you create or design while employed at JOLT.

It is important to safeguard all company assets by securing your laptops, tablets, and other devices physically and electronically to prevent theft or unauthorised disclosure of information. Never discuss proprietary of confidential information with anyone outside of the agency. Never install unauthorised software onto a device, copy or transfer software licensed or share your ID or user password.

3.2. Confidential Information

Confidential information includes any non-public information about JOLT and certain information about our clients or business partners that you may have access to through your job. It could include financial information about our business, including marketing strategies and product development, finances, operations such as leadership changes, clients, and partners. Ensure that you only access the information you need to do your job and never share confidential information belonging to JOLT, clients or partners, unless they are authorised. Use caution when communicating on social media or in public to make sure that you don’t disclose confidential information. Even sharing this information with friends and family or in public places like restaurants, lifts, or on public transportation can put this information at risk of potential disclosure and misuse.

3.3. Data Privacy

JOLT and JOLTers relationships with clients and business partners are based on trust. They trust us to handle our partnership with care, along with the sensitive information they share with us, including the personal information they provide. The same applies to our employees, clients and partners and the personal information they provide.

4. Establishing and Maintaining Trust

4.1. Conflicts of Interest

It is not always easy to recognise a potential conflict of interest as they take many different forms, but there are certain situations that lead most often to conflicts. These are accepting a second job or consulting opportunity that interferes with your full-time commitment to your job; having a relative or friend enter a business relationship with JOLT i.e. you may not hire or supervise a family member or friend without disclosing the relationship and obtaining approval. Other conflicts include investing in a non-publicly traded company that does business with JOLT, including investing in our competitors, vendors, or any other business partners.

4.2. Gifts, Entertainment and Hospitality

Exchanging gifts and providing entertainment is a long-standing business tradition. While it does demonstrate goodwill between partners, it can also be used to influence others. So, it is our responsibility to consider offers carefully. We depend on our employees to use good judgement when working with business partners. Never allow a gift or favour to influence your business decisions and don’t attempt to influence others. Violation of this policy are serious and could result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment.

4.3. Bribes and Improper Payments

Whenever bribery and corruption occur, the damage can be severe. Unfair competition, eroded trust and harm to business and communities alike. At JOLT we work to keep this behaviour out by following anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws and never offering and accepting any type of bribe. A bribe can be anything of value given to gain preferential treatment. It could be cash, gift cards or certificates, special discounts, favours, entertainments, charitable or political contributions and personal travel expenses.

5. Complying with Industry Laws and Regulations

At JOLT, we do business in multiple countries around the world, so a variety of trade laws apply to our business. It is advised that we work only with ethical partners to make sure we don’t do business with any sanctioned or restricted entities. Research each partner to verify their commitment to high ethical standards and ensure that they do not appear on lists of restricted parties maintained by various governments.

6. Working for a Better World

6.1. Environment

At JOLT we believe that preserving and protecting the environment isn’t someone else’s responsibility. This is a responsibility that all JOLTers share, and we put our efforts in making a positive impact on the environment by striving to exceed environmental protection requirements in our workspaces around the world. We operate in a few different countries but no matter where we work, we actively look for ways to work clean and more efficiently. JOLTers should comply with environmental laws, regulations, and requirements of our clients. Handle and store any hazardous materials carefully and support our conservation efforts by recycling, re-using, and reducing the use of water, energy, and other resources. At JOLT, it is our responsibility, through our own actions to show others, including business partners and clients, that we are serious about protecting the environment. As part of our ongoing AdTech curation, we prioritise partners who are actively taking action to ensure low carbon emissions and that follow the same sustainable values and principles as JOLT.

6.2. Community Involvement

At JOLT we pride ourselves to being active members of our communities worldwide with actions such as Learn With the Expert, where we help people within the industry that has been made redundant and give them the opportunity to conduct a public webinar about their topic of expertise, giving them visibility in the industry and to potential employers.
